The World On My Doorstep

An ever-expanding postcard blog

A Little Girl’s Holiday

on February 15, 2012

Every so often a lovely surprise postcard comes through my door from a little girl who I used to teach whilst volunteering at my local primary school. This one was sent from the Peak District, in the summer of 2009, when she was just 4, with “Dear Monica” and “Love Rose” written by her and the rest transcribed by her mum. In it, she talks about the excitement of feeding the ducks, how lucky it is her baby sister is happy and “not spoiling everyone’s holiday” and how she has been walking along the canal. A really cheerful card.
