The World On My Doorstep

An ever-expanding postcard blog

A Very Welcome Surprise!

on May 3, 2012

These two stunning cards from Athens are my first from Greece and come from long-term Interpals friend, Angelos. He’d been promising to send me these for years, so their arrival was a fantastic surprise! I actually know very little about Ancient Greece, but Angelos has been kind enough to fill me in and tell me the Parthenon is dedicated to Athena and dates to 438 BC. He gives me a little tour of the Acropolis postcard, telling me that the Odeon of Herodes Atticus is still good for concerts even these days. Really lovely cards, with a lovely chatty message!
