The World On My Doorstep

An ever-expanding postcard blog

Songyue Pagoda

on June 7, 2012

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful and unique cards I have in my collection. It comes from Ran in China and shows the Songyue Buddhist Monastery on Mount Song. The large structure you can see is the Songyue Pagoda (dating to 523 AD) and is one of only few remaining pagodas from this time. Ran tells me it is situated on Mount Song in Henan Province and is the birthplace of Kung Fu. Beautiful!
