The World On My Doorstep

An ever-expanding postcard blog

My First Stamped Card From Israel

on November 19, 2012

As any postcard lover will tell you, it is always much more satisfying to get a card posted from the country of origin than it is to get one bought whilst on holiday with a stamp from someone’s home country. So I was thrilled to finally receive this card from Israel (my previous one was posted in England). Sent from Tanya, she tells me she’s lived in the country since she was 8. The card shows The Bahai Shrine of Haifa, a UNESCO site. Tanya says Bahai is a religion that believes there is one god which is the same for all religions and that people need to come together in peace. What a great worldview! Amazing card!
