The World On My Doorstep

An ever-expanding postcard blog

Muromtsevo Castle

on December 7, 2012

DreamCastleThis postcard has long been on my absolute dream-cards wishlist so I am completely over the moon that Russian postcrosser Alice agreed to swap it with me. This fantastic castle is Muromtsevo Castle, not far from Moscow. After a little research I’ve discovered it’s actually of French design and dates back to the 19th century, eventually falling to ruin during the Russian Revolution. What an amazing, picturesque card! I just love how it looks like it’s fallen right out of a fairytale! Alice has also used some great and unusual stamps on the back.
