The World On My Doorstep

Istanbul via the UK

postcards3_3This lovely card was a surprise from British Rachel who wanted to send me something a little more exotic than England, so I got this lovely Turkish multiview instead. It’s great! As a city I’ve never been to, I find it so interesting to look at Istanbul through images like this!

Turkey Via Belarus

postcards3_2This stunning card comes from Oly in Belarus who bought it whilst on holiday with her boyfriend in Turkey. It is really stunning! I have never been to Turkey but cards like this make me want to visit! She tells me she is happier now than she has ever been before in her life, so I wish her and her boyfriend all the best!

Mirna Takes On Turkey!

TurkishSaltanThis wonderful card comes from my Croatian friend Mirna who went on a trip to Turkey. She says she chose this card as she wanted to send something untypical. This image shows the coronation of Sultan Selim III and Mirna tells me she bought it at a museum. It’s definitely beautiful! She also tells me that if I ever visit Istanbul, that I should book at least 5 days because her stay there wasn’t long enough, but she is glad she managed to see the wonderful Topkapi Palace. Sounds like she had an amazing trip!

Apollo Temple

As part of a direct swap with Turkish postcrosser Ece, I received this gorgeous card today showing Apollo Temple in Didim. The architecture is amazing, and its a beautiful site. Ece tells me that unfortunately archaeology isn’t very popular in Turkey. Its strange considering how beautiful some of their remains are! She also chats about her job as a chemical engineer and her city of Izmir.
